Kathmandu, Sept 15: The Nepali national women's football team has reached Uzbekistan for the AFC Women's Asian Cup, 2022 qualifiers.
The Nepali team reached Tashkent, Uzbekistan via Istanbul, Turkey. Swabs have been collected for the PCR test of the Nepali team in Tashkent. Until the test report is received, the Nepali team will stay in isolation at the hotel.
In the qualifiers, Nepal is in Group F including the Philippines and Hong Kong. Nepal will play against the Philippines on September 20 and against Hong Kong on September 20. The group's match between the Philippines and Hong Kong will be played on September 25.
The top team of the group will play the Asian Cup in India next year. Anjana Rana Magar, Anjila Subba, Usha Nath, Amrita Jaishi, Anita Basnet, Anita KC, Vimala Vik, Vimala Chaudhary and Deepa Rai are in the Nepali team.
Similarly, Geeta Rana, Hira Bhujel, Indra Rai, Manjali Yonjan, Nisha Thokar, Preeti Rai, Pooja Rana, Rajni Thokar, Rashmi Ghising, Renuka Nagarkoti, Savita Rana, Saru Limbu and Sirjana Singh are in the team. Gary Phillips is the head coach of the team.
