Kathmandu, Dec 12 : Nepal is to play World Cup football qualifying matches in home ground. The national football team is playing three matches under the second round of WC qualifying in March and June 2021.
Nepal will face Chinese Taipei on March 25, according to All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) spokesperson Kiran Rai. Likewise, the home team will play against Australia on March 30 and against Jordan on June 7.
These matches were scheduled to be held in March-April 2020 but were postponed due to the Corona Virus pandemic.
In Group B of the Asian qualifying category, Nepal is grouped together with Australia, Kuwait, Jordan and Chinese Taipei. Following the first round of matches, Australia leads the group with 12 points followed by Kuwait and Jordan with 10 points each in the second and third position.
Nepal remains in fourth position with three points after a solitary win against Chinese Taipei. Chinese Taipei remains in the fifth and last position with no points so far.
