Kathmandu, Jan 28: Nepal will play against hosts Oman in the inaugural match under the ICC World Cup T-20 Global Qualifier ‘A’.
As per the schedule of the T-20 Global Qualifier published by the International Cricket Council (ICC) today, the inaugural match between Nepal and Oman has been confirmed. Nepal is listed in Group ‘A’ under the Global Qualifier.
Oman, Bahrain, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Philippines, and United Arab Emirates are also in Group ‘A’. These eight teams have been divided into two groups. Nepal, Oman, Canada and the Philippines are in Sub-group 1 while Ireland, UAE, Bahrain and Germany are in Sub-group 2.
The inaugural match would be held on February 18 in Oman. The two teams reaching the final would book a place in the T-20 World Cup scheduled in Australia in November.
Similarly, Nepal would play its second match against the Philippines on February 19 and the third match against Canada on February 21.
Nepal will play the T-20 series comprising four countries before playing the World Cup Qualifier. There would be competition among Nepal, UAE, Ireland and Oman from February 11-14.
Nepal will play the first match against Oman on February 11, the second match against UAE on February 12 and the third match against Ireland on February 14.
