Kathmandu, Nov. 13: Nepali women’s u19 cricket team recorded first win at the B and R Cup T20 Cricket Tournament in Shanghai, China on Wednesday.
Nepal notched up eight wickets win over China. Batting first, China was all out in for 37 runs in 10 overs. In reply, Nepali girls achieved the victory target in six over losing two wickets.
Ishwori Bista, who claimed three wickets, was named player of the match.
Nepal lost their first match against Thailand by 29 runs. Nepal will next play against Myanmar on Thursday and take on Malaysia on Friday.
Meanwhile, the men’s U19 team, who are playing U19 Challengers One Day Cricket Tournament in India, suffered second defeats in a row.
Nepal lost to India A with 107 runs in Rajib Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad. The A team of host scored 248 runs and Nepal, in run chase, scored only 140 runs losing nine wickets in 50 overs. Nepal lost their first match against India C by 10 wickets. Nepal will take on India B on Friday.
