Surkhet, Jan 2 : The Karnali State government has prized gold medalist athlete Dipak Hamal with Rs 300,000 in cash. Hamal is the gold medal winner in Wushu game in the last month's South Asian Games (SAG) held in Kathmandu.
The Karnali State government honoured Hamal and five other players at a programme organized in Surkhet on Wednesday to mark the beginning of Visit Nepal Year-2020.
Likewise, silver medal winner in marathon Pushpa Bhandari, silver medal winner in women's volleyball Gita Rana and silver medal winner in handball Sharada BK were given Rs 200,000 each and the letter of appreciation on the occasion.
Similarly, bronze medal winners Tek Bahadur Sarki and Chandra Kala Thapa received Rs 100,000 in cash from the state government.
During the programme, Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi announced the beginning of visit year in the Karnali State.
