Kathmandu, Nov 26: Nepal has defeated Malaysia in ICC Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier taking place in the United Arab Emirates.
With this victory, Nepal has climbed to the top position. Nepal won by six wickets in its fourth match held today under the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier. Malaysia had posted 93 runs target before Nepal and Nepal completed the target in 18.2 overs losing four wickets.
With this win, Nepal has a strong chance of reaching the T20 World Cup Global Qualifier scheduled next year.
Sita Rana Magar collected the highest 30 runs for Nepal's victory. Captain Rubina Chhetri, Sarita Rana Magar, Kabita Kunwar and Indu Barma gathered 20 runs, 15 runs, 10 runs and four runs respectively.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss at the ground of ICC Academy in Dubai, Malaysia had made 92 runs in 20 overs by losing seven wickets before this.
Sabanam Rai took two wickets for Nepal while Kabita Kunwar, Sita Rana Magar and Captain Rubina Chhetri took one wicket each.
Nepal has climbed to the top position with six points winning three matches out of four. Nepal will play its last match against UAE on Sunday.
