By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar. 14: Secretary Youth and Sports of Nepal, Kedar Nupane, gave away the prizes to the winners of Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T-20 Cricket Tournament.
A total of 12 Nepali Cricket Clubs participated in the 10-day cricket tournament which was the 6th annual event of its type, organized by the Pakistan Embassy in Kathmandu.
Great Himalayan Cricket Club won the tournament while Angles Cricket Club was the runner-up.
Special guests in the ceremony held on Sunday to distribute the prizes included Mr. Gyanendra Malla, Captain of Nepal International Cricket Team.
Addressing the ceremony secretary Neupane lauded the efforts of the Pakistan Embassy in organizing this annual event and pointed to the huge potential for further developing bilateral relations between Pakistan and Nepal through organizing such sport events.
Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Syed Haider Shah, reiterated the commitment to continue to encourage efforts to bring the youths of the two countries together. This, he said, was an important cornerstone of the people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and Nepal, according to the press release of the embassy.
