Kathmandu, Mar. 18: Football Club Chitwan Thursday signed national football team forward Bharat Khawas as a marquee player for the upcoming Nepal Super League (NSL).
FC Chitwan signed Tribhuvan Army Football Club (TAFC) forward Khawas and former Three Star Club Coach Megh Raj KC in the capital on Thursday. Nepal’s much-awaited franchise football league which will kick off from March April 24 to May 8 at Dashrath Stadium, Kathmandu.
The league will be conducted under the round robin league and altogether 19 matches will be played. Meanwhile, FC Chitwan has also signed the Megh Raj KC as a head coach of the team for the NSL.
FC Chitwan president Sanjeet Dhakal, forward Khawas and Coach KC inked the deal. The NSL featured the seven teams representing different seven cities of the nation. The seven teams are-Biratnagar City Football Club (BCFC), Kathmandu Ryazer Football Club (KRFC), Lalitpur City Football Club (LCFC), Football Club Chitwan (FCC), Pokhara Thunders (PT), Butwal Lumbini Football Club (BLFC) and Dhangadhi Football Club (DFC).The auction of the Nepal’s first ever franchise league will be held in the capital on Friday.
The league will be conducted under the technical support of the domestic football governing body, All Nepal Football Association (ANFA). Earlier on Tuesday, Dhangadhi FC signed national team mid-fielder Bishal Rai as a marquee player and Lalitpur Football Club signed the national team winger Anjan Bista as a marquee player of the team. The NSL will be organised by Nepal Sports Management Pvt. Ltd.
