Mangalbare, Oct 6: Police busted Anup Agrawal of Suryodaya Municipality in possession of counterfeit Indian currency.
Police took Agrawal, 35, to the Itahari-based Revenue Investigation Office for further investigation.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Agrawal with counterfeit Indian currency notes with 2000, 500, 200 and 100 denominations worth a total of 1.1 million.
Arrested Agrawal was kept at Police Office Pashupatinagar before taking him to Itahari for further investigation. Agrawal was arrested when the sources of the currency he possessed were not established, police shared.
Police took him and his driver Purna Bahadur Kathet under control from a car (Me 1 Cha 6424) while he was on the way to Jhapa. Police speculated that Agrawal has long been involved in the transactions of Indian counterfeit currency.
