Kathmandu, Nov 4 : Abiral Ghimire of Nepal has emerged victorious in the International Kickboxing Competition held in Japan on Sunday.
Ghimire aka 'Himali Chituwa (Snow Leopard)' fought against his 28-year-old Japanese rival in the first round of the competition.
The emerging young talent in kickboxing, Ghimire had defeated his Japanese competitor at 2 minutes 30 seconds of the first round. Ghimire, who is son of famed kickboxing player Dev Ghimire, was in Japan for a special training.
A resident of Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu, Ghimire had received training and coaching from his father. He has secured the title position in 11 of 12 international competitions he has participated in so far.
Abiral told RSS over email that following his latest win, he has been further inspired to perform better and hold the country's name high in international arena. "I would like to give credit of this success to my father. My win has made Nepal and Nepalis more proud," he commented.
