Chitwan, Aug 27 : The Narayanghat-Mugling road stretch has witnessed traffic disruptions due to a massive landslide occurred at Setidobhan area at 8.20 pm last night following heavy rain. Officials said that it could take at least two more hours to clear the landslide.
Information Officer of Division Road Office Shiva Khanal said that workers are deployed from 5:30 this morning and they are expected to clear the debris by 10:00 am today if more landslides did not occur.
Hundreds of vehicles have been stranded due to the road disruption.
Likewise, Helambu Highway in Sindhupalchowk district has been obstructed due to landslides at Phatakshila in Melamchi area.
Area Police Office, Melamchi, said that a landslide occurred at 6:00 am in the area has caused disruption in the vehicular movement.
Police Inspector Tikaram Rai has urged the drivers to use alternative roads to reach the destinations as the landslide is still occurring.
Vehicles to and from Kathmandu have been stranded at the site now.
