Kathmandu, Jan 3: An application has been submitted to the Election Commission, Nepal, for the registration of a new party called 'Nagarik Unmukti Party' in the initiative of a suspended member of the House of Representatives (HoR) Reshmalal Chaudhary, who is serving his prison term at the Dilli Bazaar Jail.
Assistant Spokesperson of Election Commission Komal Prasad Dhamala informed The TRN Online that the party applied for the registration of the 'Nagarik Unmukti Party' chaired by Chaudhary's wife Ranjita Shrestha on Monday.
According to him, Chaudhary applied for party registration in jail administration. Accordingly, the party has applied for registration.
On Monday, Chaudhary's supporters organised a march past from Bhrikutimandap to the Election Commission. Chaudhary, the main accused in the Tikapur massacre, is serving his sentence in the Dilli Bazaar Jail.
