Kathmandu, Dec. 23: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Paudel has said that preparations were underway to bring the federal education act through a shortcut as there has been delay in this regard.
Work started by the former education minister would continue and a discussion with the stakeholders on the subject of the federal education act was underway, said the minister at a meeting of the Education and Health Committee under the House of Representatives on Thursday.
Stating that the ministry has issued a circular to the local level to provide remunerations to teachers for the early childhood development programme, he said that this issue would be incorporated in the Act so as to additionally strengthen it.
On the occasion, former Education Minister Girirajmani Pokharel has urged publication of the 15th plan report prepared by the National Planning Commission and the report prepared by the high-level commission.
Also, former Health Minister Khagraj Adhikari suggested that parents' responsibility to their children pursuing education should be mentioned in the law.
