By Amrit Prasad Poudel, Beni, Oct. 25: Heavy snowfall has been observed at Muktinath Temple area, a pilgrimage site in the Mustang, a trans-Himalayan district.
Areas above the Muktinath temple have also witnessed snowfall on Sunday evening.
According to Amrit Subedi, hotel owner of the Annapurna Inn, heavy snowfall was recorded above Muktinath temple from Sunday evening.
Tourists were ecstatic sighting the snowfall at Muktinath. There was little rainfall last week, however, thick snowfall was sighted this week since Sunday morning.
Netra Prasad Sharma, Chief District District (CDO) of Mustang said that the cold has increased following the snowfall of Sunday. It has not reached the settlement but more snow has fallen in the area above the Muktinath temple and other high hills.
CDO Sharma informed the TRN that snowfall in Mustang was triggered by the rainfall across the country, however, more snowfall was added on Sunday in the area.
Dol Raj Bhandari, Sub-Inspector at the border police post in Lomanthang, snowfall was observed at the Korala Checkpoint in Mustang District, and on hill areas.
