By Thakur Prasad Acharya, Myagdi, Dec. 21: The Mustang section of the Beni-Jomsom-Korala road, a national pride project connecting the Korla border with China, is being blacktopped. A 20-kilometre road from Kaiku Khola to Khanti of Mustang has been blacktopped.
Although the progress in the Myagdi section of the project is not as expected, the road construction in the Mustang section is satisfactory. Tourists visiting Mustang have been relieved after the road was tarred.
A contract agreement was signed with Sharma Gajurmukhi JV at a cost of Rs. 543 million. Project Chief Jagat Prajapati informed that 80 per cent of physical progress has been made in this section so far.
Out of 110 km road from Jomsom to Korla border, construction of 85 km road has been completed. This section is a gravel road.
A contract worth Rs 280 million has been signed with Rautah Atraya Saras JV to blacktopping 13 kilometres of road from Mustang to Kagbeni.
