Kathmandu, Oct 15: President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed ambassadors of Nepal to Australia and Spain on Tuesday.
The oath taking ceremony was held at a special function at the Office of the President in Sheetal Niwas.
The newly appointed ambassadors to Australia and Spain are Mahesh Raj Dahal and Dawa Phuti Sherpa respectively.
Foreign Affairs Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Foreign Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi and Chief of the Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa, among others, were present on the occasion.
Earlier, President Bhandari had, on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers and in accordance with Article 282 of the Constitution, appointed Sherpa as the Ambassador to Spain and Dahal as the Ambassador to Australia.
