By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 6: The man-eater tiger that killed a mahout, Pulis Ram Chaudhary, near the rhinoceros scaffolding inside the Bardiya National Park on Sunday evening, has been caged at the central zoo, Jawalakhel, today.
The tiger had pounced on both the mahout and the elephant around 5:30 pm on Sunday. Despite the immediate rescue, the man-eater wildcat escaped leaving the poor mahout in a bush, seven meters away from the incident.
Before being caged at the central zoo, the tiger was kept at a rescue centre in Thakurdwara, Bardiya. The problematic tiger is estimated to be at least 10 years old. The average age of a tiger is considered to be 15 years. Therefore, it is said that this tiger is an opportunistic tiger as it is old. The tiger's leg is badly injured.
