By Tara Chapagain, Pokhara, Jun. 11: The construction of the first sky bridge of Gandaki Province is in the final stage. Sky bridge is being constructed at Srijana Chowk of Pokhara Metropolitan City -8.
Chairman of ward n. 8 Rudra Nath Baral informed The TRN Online that the bridge will be inaugurated on the second week of Ashar. He said that a sum of Rs. 25.4 million budget has been invested for the construction of Sky Bridge.
According to him, money from the then parliamentarian of Kaski constituency n. 2 and Tourism minister Rabindra Adhikari who allocated Rs. 50 lakhs from Infrastructure Development Programme and remaining budged was managed by the Pokhara Metropolitan City.
He said that though the construction was scheduled to be completed by mid-June, due to COVID-19 it will be completed with a slight delay after the remaining painting works.
The first sky bridge of Gandaki Province will help to manage increasing traffic pressure and eases the jaywalkers. It has been said that since the sky bridge was constructed by using modern design it can be shifting to another place if needed.
