By Amrit Prasad Paudel, Myagdi, June 1: Construction of a Rhododendron Park is underway at Histan, Annapurna Rural Municipality-7 of Myagdi district.
It has been said that the construction of Rhododendron Park is started with an aim to disseminate information regarding rhododendron species and to increase the flow of internal and external tourists.
According to the Deputy Chief of Division Forest Office Myagdi, Santosh Khanal, the park is being constructed with a budget of Rs. 10.7 million. He said that Rhododendron Park construction works such as Rhododendron Information Center, Toilet and gate are underway these days in the premises of Nesharani Community Forest.
Nesharani Community Forest's Chairperson Lal Bahadur Garbuja said that the park will cover half a hector of the community forest land. Under the Rhododendron Park, 31 species of rhododendron found in Nepal will be planted. Similarly, names of all rhododendron species will be put in park premises in Nepali and Scientific language both with their color photos.
