By Amrit Prasad Paudel, Beni, Dec. 2: In the Trans-Himalayan district Mustang, known as the capital of apples, apple production has increased by nine per cent this year. Mustang, which is famous in Nepal for its apple production and taste, has produced 5,500 metric tonnes of apples this year.
According to the Agriculture Knowledge Center, Mustang, the production of apples has increased by 451 metric tonnes more this year from 5,100 metric tonnes last year.
According to Prakash Bastakoti, head of the Agriculture Knowledge Center, Mustang, out of the 1,440 hectares of apple trees planted in Mustang this year, 5,564 metric tonnes of apples have been produced from about 150,000 apple trees.
