Workshop held on interior design  of Sindhuligadhi museum

Kathmandu, Dec. 8: In line with the policy of the government to promote the country’s history and culture and the Command Guide of the Chief of Army Staff-2018, a one-day workshop on preparation of internal decoration and structure of the Sindhuligadhi War Museum concluded on Sunday.
As Nepali Army is carrying out the restoration of historical fort and building the museum, it is working on its interior designs.
According to a press statement issued by the Directorate of Public Relations and Information, discussions were held on the collection of materials required for the museum, the collection and procurement of materials from various sources, and operation and management of the museum.
On the occasion, a presentation on the progress made so far in the museum was made by Battalion head of Bard Bahadur Battalion.
Brigadier General of No. 9 Brigade Dhruba Prakash Shah said that the victory over the British in the battle of Sindhuligadhi in Nepali history played an important role in preserving the existence of Nepal and Nepali people.
Addressing the seminar, member of parliament of Bagmati Province Binod Khadka said that the Sindhudhuligadhi War Museum could be developed as an international tourist destination by taking into account the suggestions of the concerned experts and considering the future challenges in decorating, managing and operating the arms and documents.
He said the museum carried a glorious history and stressed on the need to enhance it further.
Lawmaker Khadka appreciated the initiative of the Nepali Army.
The workshop was attended by the Deputy Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer of Kamalamai Municipality, Head of National Museum, conservationists, architects, and other experts.
