UML’s agenda will get public support: Pokharel

By A Staff Reporter
Kathmandu, Dec. 14: CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel said that it was necessary to establish the UML as a party that would be able to win majority in all levels of elections.
Speaking at a program organised by All Nepal Women’s Association in Lalitpur on Monday, Pokhrel said it was possible for the UML to get the support of the majority of the people due to the agenda and goals put forward by the party.
Stating that a conspiracy was being hatched by the coalition to keep the UML out of the leadership in the future as well, he pointed out that strong support of the people was needed to thwart the conspiracy.
In another context, Pokharel accused CPN (Maoist Center) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and CPN (Unified Socialist) chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal of pursuing a mission to weaken the communist movement.
“The two leaders are on a mission to weaken the communist movement by making the Nepali Congress, which is on a journey towards capitalism, their leader,” said Pokharel.
