By Ram Mani Dahal, Hetauda, Aug. 18: Asta Laxmi Shakya has been chosen as the leader of the parliamentary party of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly of the CPN (UML).
A meeting of the parliamentary party of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly of the CPN (UML) held today elected Shakya as the leader unanimously.
Press coordinator of Bagmati province Chief Minister Dor Mani Paudel, informed that Paudel proposed Shakya's name for the leader of the parliamentary party.
As the leader of the parliamentary party, Shakya will likely become Chief Minister of the province as the UML has its majority with 56 lawmakers in the 110-member Bagmati Provincial Assembly.
Shakya has been chosen as the parliamentary party leader to keep intact the UML party unity, according to Rameshwor Phuyal, Bagmati province Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development.
