Schools to remain closed till Feb. 12

Kathmandu, Jan. 29: A meeting of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Coordination Centre (CCMCC) Friday recommended the government to resume public vehicles by scrapping previously imposed odd and even number plate system after cases of the new variant of COVID-19 surged.
“Today’s meeting has decided to recommend the government for Cabinet nod to impose the odd and even number plate system only on taxis and private vehicles, and allow all the public vehicles to resume normally,” Joint Secretary and Spokesperson for the CCMCC Sunita Nepal of the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, said.
Similarly, the CCMCC meeting recommended the government to continue closing of schools and colleges and all types of academic institutions until February 12.
Earlier, the government had decided to shut down all schools and colleges from taking physical classes till January 29.
Further, the CCMCC has recommended the government to shut cinema halls, dance bars, and other recreational centres till February 12, extending the restriction for next two weeks.
