Kathmandu, Nov 1: The committee formed to probe into the death of Nankunni Dhobi and Nirmala Kurmi submitted its report to Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand on Sunday.
The investigation committee led by Joint Secretary Hira Lal Regmi of the Ministry has submitted the report to the Minister.

Accepting the report, Minister Khand said that the findings of the investigation would be sent to the concerned bodies for implementation.

"We will send the findings of the investigation to the concerned bodies for implementation. Thank you for preparing the report after conducting an on-site study,” said the Home Minister.
In the report, it is mentioned that Mata Prasad Dhobi has lodged a complaint against Ram Kumar Dhobi and Itwari Dhobi alias Lakshi Ram Dhobi of Janaki Rural Municipality-2 at the District Police Office, Banke.
After the investigation, both the accused have been indicted in the Banke District Court on the charge of murder.

The report has mentioned that Nirmala Kurmi, a resident of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan Ward No. 17, was killed with the intention of grabbing 10 bighas of land, which were in the names her husband Mahlu Kurmi and elder son Ram Sagar.
According to the report, after the death of her husband Mahlu Kurmi in 2005, Nirmala was living with her two sons. When both the sons died in a 10-day gap in December 2009, the land certificates were taken by Badshah Kurmi.

As mentioned in the report, after the protest ensued, Badshah duly handed over the land certificate to the district administration office.
Although the committee found eight people including Badshah guilty in the initial stage of the incident, it is mentioned in the report that none other than Badshah is absconding.
The committee has recommended forming a team with experts from the concerned body to investigate into the case of Nirmala Kurmi in Banke district.

The members of the investigation committee include Superintendent of Police Ram Prakash Shah, Deputy Director of Investigation Birendra Singh Karki, Deputy Secretary Ram Prasad Lamsal, Administrative Officer of District Administration Office Banke Amar Raj Sejuwal and Mohammad Sher Bagwan.
