Reply why you defied party orders: CPN (Maoist Center) asks government ministers representing it

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar. 14: Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) has decided to ask its leaders who are included in the government as ministers to furnish replies about why they defied the party instructions to give up their positions in the government.

A meeting of the central committee of the CPN (Maoist Center) took a decision to this effect today.

Earlier, the party had asked its leaders who joined the government as ministers to resign from the post and report to the party within 24 hours.

However, the meeting did not take any decision whether to continue supporting the government or take the support back, according to Narayan Kaji Shrestha, spokesperson of the party.

The meeting will continue tomorrow from when the central committee members will start putting forth their views on the issues raised in the meeting.

Chairman of the CNP (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' briefed the meeting about the present political situation including the discussion with the other parties about the formation of the government and the impact of the attack on the essence and objective of the party unity between the CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Center). A Supreme Court decision had recently invalidated the unity after three years of the formation of the unified party as the NCP.

Also in today's meeting, party in-charge for different provinces also presented reports to the meeting about the organizational strength and party's status in the concerned provinces.
