Taplejung, Feb. 15 : Farmers from Mamangkhe of Sirijhanga Rural Municipality Ward No. 6, Taplejung have started kiwi farming thanks to the Rural Municipal Office's grant.
Under the recent campaign dubbed as ' Sirijhanga's Pride, Enterprising Agriculturalists', the Rural Municipality has launched kiwi promotion programme.
Following the campaign, 70 farmers of the village have received the grant and have so far planted 2,550 kiwi saplings.
"The environment, climate and the fertile soil are all very suitable here for kiwi farming," informed Sapna Tiwari, an official at the Rural Municipality's Agriculture Department.
