Kathmandu valley logs highest single-day spike in COVID-19 tally with 2,540 new cases

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct. 8: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Thursday confirmed 2,540 new cases of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley.

In 18,473 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 2,540 persons were found with the novel coronavirus infection in the Valley itself, revealed the daily report released by the MoHP today.

Of the 2,540 new cases, 2,085 cases were detected in Kathmandu, 135 cases found in Bhaktapur and 320 cases were recorded in Lalitpur.

On Wednesday, 1,684 cases of novel coronavirus infection were recorded in the Valley. 

Moreover, some 4,364 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed across the nation on Thursday, taking the national tally to 98,617 including 71,343 cases of recovery and 590 death cases.
