Kathmandu, Jan. 4: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) has decided to celebrate this year’s National Yoga Day by following international health protocol to remain safe from COVID-19.
At a meeting of the National Yoga Day main organising committee on Sunday, Education Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha, who is also the chairperson of the main committee, said Yoga is essential to be safe from coronavirus infection.
In the meeting, Minister Shrestha asked stakeholders to set a moral statement for the Yoga Day. Every year, the Ministry has been celebrating the National Yoga Day on Magh 1 of Nepali month for the last six years.
Minister Shrestha directed all stakeholders to celebrate the National Yoga Day as a great event.
Education Secretary Gopi Nath Mainali said the Ministry was planning to celebrate the day through virtual medium this year.
