Kathmandu, Jan. 5: The government has cancelled its plan to administer an additional dose of vaccine to immunosuppressed and people above 60 years of age.
It is important to administer complete dose of vaccine to all the citizens of the country, the administration of additional dose of vaccine has been cancelled for now, said Dr. Sangita Kaushal Mishra, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
The ministry will provide the information regarding the additional dose after completing the discussion on technical aspects, said Dr. Mishra.
Earlier, the MoHP had planned to provide additional doses of COVID-19 vaccines to the immunosuppressed and critically ill patients from today.
The MoHP had planned to administer additional dose of the anti-coronavirus vaccine to the immunosuppressed people, HIV-infected people, active cancer patients and patients taking immunosuppressant drugs during treatment and those above 60 years who have taken the Vero Cell vaccine.
The additional dose was planned to be provided on the recommendation of the COVID-19 vaccine advisory committee.
