Citizens living in border areas are border guards: Minister Khand

Rupendehi, Nov. 24: Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand Tuesday said that all Nepalis living in the border areas of Nepal are true nationalists.
Minister Khand said that Nepal’s nationality, dignity and identity are maintained by the Nepali people in the border areas. He said that the Nepali nationals living in the border area had saved Nepal from being encroached.

He made this remark in a meeting with Nepali Congress leaders and cadres after worshiping at the Marchwari Mai temple in Kothamai Rural Municipality-5 of Rupandehi.
Home Minister Khand said that the entire country had been saved today as the Nepalis living in the border had protected the Nepali lands in the border area, taking full ownership of the Nepali motherland.

He said that the problem related to chemical fertilizers seen during winter planting season would be resolved soon.
During the meeting with party cadres in Rupandehi, Home Minister Khand said that chemical fertilizers would be made available as soon as possible.

The Home Minister said the government was working to promote agriculture and education. “We are trying to solve the problem of import of chemical fertilizers,” he said.
Similarly, the government is committed to build a technical school in Kothamai and solve the problems of roads, drinking water and electricity.
Home Minister Khand was accompanied by Pramod Yadav, directly elected federal MP from Rupandehi 4, Lumbini Education, Science, Youth and Sports Minister Basiuddin Khan
and Lumbini MP Ashtabhuja Pathak.

Home Minister Khand said that the primary goal of the government and the Nepali Congress is to save the life of every Nepali citizen.
Although the pace of development was very slow before 2048 BS, he said that the then Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala had worked to lift the economy in a systematic manner after the multi-party system was restored in 2048 BS. He also said that the Nepali Congress had managed to operate the Bhairahawa-Kathmandu airline daily with various struggles due to the fact that the airline was operating only twice a week.

He also expressed the government’s commitment to assist in the construction of the Marchawar temple.
The Home Minister also thanked the party leaders and cadres for electing a working committee and general convention committee in Rupandehi Constituency No. 4 for the upcoming general convention of the party unopposed.

In Rupandehi Constituency No. 4, the Regional Working Committee and the General Convention were elected unopposed under the chairmanship of Mukesh Yadav.
