By Our Correspondent, Kalyanpur, Apr. 18: Chaiti Chhath was marked by offering the setting sun on Sunday at several districts of the Terai.
Chaiti Chhath is celebrated for four days.
Devotees offered water to the setting Sun standing in water of the pond or river and wished for peace, prosperity, and longevity of their family members.
Chaiti Chhath is also known as mini Chhath. On the occasion, devotees at Rajbiraj were seen busy performing worshipping ritual on Sunday.
But the energetic participation of devotees and observers is not seen in Chaiti Chhath like during the main Chhath of Kartik.
Only those devotees who have their wishes celebrated Chhath so, the participation of devotees was fewer, said Ram Kumar Shastri, a priest.
The four days Chaiti festival will conclude on Monday by offering holy water to the rising Sun.
