By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 7: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Monday confirmed 1,014 new cases of COVID-19, taking the national tally to 241,995.
“In 6,220 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction Tests (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 1,014 persons were found with the novel coronavirus infection,” informed the MoHP in its daily update.
Currently, there are 12,948 active cases of COVID-19 and 527 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad are stationed in quarantine.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,628 persons either staying in home isolation or receiving treatment in various health facilities recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. The total number of COVID-19 recoveries in Nepal has spiked to 227,433 and the recovery rate is at 93.98 per cent.
Moreover, 20 people succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the COVID-19 death toll to 1,614 and the death rate is at 0.67 per cent.
