Ageing Nepal receives US$ 20,000 literacy award

Ageing Nepal, an organisation of Nepal involved in UNESCO's campaign to make senior citizens literate, has received the King Sejong Literacy Award. The oraganisation has received an award of USD 20,000. The UNESCO King Sejong Literacy Prize is an annual prize awarded to two institutions, or individuals across the world for their contribution to the fight against illiteracy. The award for the year 2020 has also been received by the World School of the United Kingdom.

One dead, five injured in tractor accident in Dadeldhura

The tractor with registration no Se 1 Ta 3813 was carrying pipes of a drinking water project when it fell off the road and stopped at a gully. All the injured have been undergoing treatment at the Dadeldhura district hospital.

Petrol, diesel price up 

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) increased the price of petroleum products since last night. The NOC informed that the price of petrol, diesel and kerosene was upped by Rs 2 per litre in the existing retail price.

Schools closed due to chilly weather

Basudev Timalsina, education section head of the Municipality, said that all community and institutional schools of the Municipality have remained closed due to the incessant cold wave as well as dense fog that have enveloped the Province over the past week.
