Kathmandu, Jan. 20: Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) has called applications for this year’s President School Education Improvement Programme, scrapping all previous applications.
Prior to that, the meeting of the Board of Directors held at the Ministry on Tuesday had taken that decision.
In all, 3,147 applications have been scrapped. The meeting chaired by the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Krishna Gopal Shrestha said it had decided to call for applications through the new process.
Director General of Centre for Education and Human Resource Development Baikuntha Aryal informed that a total of Rs. 5.10 billion had been allocated for that programme.
Last year, 345 applications were received through the local levels, in addition to more than 2,000 applications through emails, post offices and other medium. Aryal asked schools to send application within 15 days.
The programme is meant for developing physical infrastructure, enhancing student learning, adopting innovative technologies for quality education, innovation and learning materials management, and increasing access to technical and vocational education of community schools across the nation.
Community schools can submit their proposal for the programme.
