Kathmandu, Nov 13 (RSS):
An advocate here has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court (SC) demanding an order to seek a resolution to the issues relating to the encroachment of the Nepal's lands and ensure their protection through diplomatic channels.
The writ petition has a bearing with India placing Nepal's places as Kalapani, Lipulekh inside the Indian territory in the recently-unveiled political map and the stir it has caused in Nepal and among the Nepalis.
Advocate Kanchan Krishna Neupane today registered the writ naming against the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defense among others as defendants and demanded that Nepal's places as Susta, Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura among others be protected from encroachment by India.
Neupane also has sought mandamus order from the SC to determine the bordering points between Nepal and India as well as to regain the encroached lands through diplomatic means. Stating that since the State was not breaking its silence on the encroached lands, he mentioned in his writ that it was affecting the public. He has also drawn the attention of the government and State to work towards safeguarding the rights of the Nepalis to live freely as a sovereign citizen.
