Kathmandu, June 25 : The World Health Organization (WHO) has refuted the claims that a ‘mix and match’ regimen of Vero Cell and AstraZeneca CoviShield Vaccine would yield more effective results.
Issuing a press release, WHO clarified that it has not issued any such statements and the attribution is false. “Such misinformation can lead to grave consequences for the public”, reads the press release.
Data on the efficacy of ‘mix and match’ of vaccines remains limited. While studies are ongoing regarding the interchangeability between vaccines and more evidence is needed regarding interchangeability of the second dose of AstraZeneca with Vero Cell vaccines before conclusions can be made, stated the release. ---
