Kathmandu, Jan. 27: The weather that remained normal to partially cloudy in the Kathmandu Valley on Wednesday is likely to remain similar for one or two more days, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).

Likewise, the weather in Sudurpaschim and Gandaki remained normally cloudy while it was partly cloudy in other Provinces. One or two places in Sudurpaschim received light rain.
However, people in Kathmandu felt colder from early in the morning on Wednesday. Many people in the capital city were seen making fire on the roadside to keep themselves warm in the afternoon.
Prativa Tuladhar, a meteorologist at the DHM, said that the weather condition would remain general to partly cloudy for coming two days in the Kathmandu Valley but the situation might improve in the Terai.

Light rain is expected in a few places in Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Lumbini provinces as well as one or two places in other provinces. Light snowfall is expected in some parts of the country’s high hills and mountains.
The weather will remain partial to generally cloudy in the hilly terrain of Province 1, Bagmati and Gandaki and partially cloudy in the hilly terrain of the remaining provinces. Light rain is expected in a few places in the hilly terrain of the country. Light snowfall is expected in some parts of high mountainous and mountainous areas of the country on Thursday, Tuladhar said.

“The weather will remain generally clear in the rest of the country with partial cloud cover in the hilly areas of the country on Friday. There is a possibility of light rain in one or two places in the hilly areas of the country,” she said.
Light snowfall is also expected in a few places in the high hills and mountains of the country on Friday, she added.

Fog is predicted in some places of the Terai in the morning and it is likely to improve by noon, she added.
The minimum temperature in Kathmandu was recorded 5.6 degrees Celsius and in Jumla it was minus 1.7 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
Currently, the western low-pressure system has a partial impact on the country, Tuladhar added.
