Kathmandu, June 5 : The United States of America is to provide COVID-19 vaccines to Nepal. Issuing a statement on Friday, joint spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari said that the US government has decided to support Nepal with COVID-19 vaccines.
The type and number of vaccines are however not decided. "The announcement to provide COVID-19 vaccines to Nepal is appreciated. We extend heartfelt gratitude for this announcement. Nepal and the Nepali people look forward to similar support and cooperation in the future," reads the statement.
Prior to this, the US government had provided medical supplies to help Nepal prevent and control COVID-19.
