Kathmandu, Oct 2: Nepal Police has arrested two people for possessing illegal gold.
A police team mobilized by the Metropolitan Police Circle Kirtipur arrested 40-year-old Dhruba Bahadur Darlami of Nawalparasi and 25-year-old Neer Bahadur Pariyar of Baglung on Tuesday evening.
Chief of the Circle, Deputy Superintendent Chhedu Lal Kamati informed that Darlami and Pariyar were arrested at Chabahil while bringing the illegal gold via Tribhuvan International Airport.
'We apprehended them at Chabahil after they had brought the contraband dodging the checking at Tribhuvan International Airport," he said.
Police confiscated 16 tolas 14 lal gold from the arrestees. The gold costs Rs 1.2 million. The two have been sent to the Revenue Office for further investigation and action, police stated.
