Kathmandu, Dec 12 : Two more people have died in the truck accident occurred at Kalanki on Friday evening. A body was found squashed while removing the truck from the accident site while another person died in course of treatment this morning, the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu said.
The deceased are 42-year-old Raju Poudel of Thankre, Dhading district and one Ranjit Kumar Chaudhary, Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu's senior superintendent Ashok Singh said. Chaudhary died in course of treatment, Singh said.
Before this, Shanker Pariyar of Okhaldhunga had died on the spot on Friday. Seven more people who were injured in the mishap are under treatment.
They are Ram Chandra Simkhada, Suman Manandhar, Bishal Shrestha, Ganesh Sharma, Sajan Khatri, Sandhya Thing and Ram Bahadur Kharal.
The truck (registration number plate Province 2-03001 Kha 1420) loaded with cement veered off the road and rammed into a house, breaking the wall on the slope near the Kalika Petrol Pump at Kalanki on Friday evening.
Police suspected that the accident happened due to brake failure. The ill-fated truck hit a car, a taxi, scooter, bicycle and motorcycle. It also caused damage inside the house as well, police said.
