Dailekh, May 10 : A police constable and a local resident were injured in a clash that two place between the two sides in ward no. 4 of Chamunda Bindrasaini municipality. The clash ensued after police reached a road construction side where around 60 people had gathered violating the lockdown order.
Police constable Khagendra Sunar and local resident Kamal Shahi were injured in the incident that took place on Saturday evening. Police had to fire two warning shots in the air after the locals pelted stones at them, according to chief of Dailkeh police, Hari Bahadur Oli.
The locals had gathered to construct the Saltakura Nab-Saltadanga road. The police had to be summoned as the lockdown was violated with too many people, said deputy mayor Tara Shahi. The situation is under control after arrival of additional security force from Dullu.
Meanwhile, Chief District Officer Yubaraj Kattel said that an investigation would be carried out and the guilt punished.
