By Siraj Khan, Nepalgunj, Sept. 23: Banke on Wednesday recorded two COVID-19 related fatalities, including the death of a ward chair of Bardiya.
According to the District Health Office, Banke, a 64-year-old male of Thakurbaba, Bardiya, who was infected with the novel coronavirus, died on Tuesday evening while undergoing treatment at Kohalpur Teaching Hospital of Nepalgunj Medical College.
Likewise, 39-year-old ward chair of Barbardiya Municipality-3 succumbed to the infection at Bheri Hospital at 10:30 on Wednesday morning. He was admitted to the hospital on September 14.
Naresh Shrestha, COVID-19 focal person of the District Health Office, said that both the patients were suffering from pneumonia. "We could not save them despite using all the treatments," said Shrestha.
With this, the number of COVID-19 related deaths in Banke has reached seven.
