Rasuwa, Oct 16: The upgrading of Syafrubesi-Rashuwagadhi road that connects with the only international trade border has started.
The Shyafrubesi to Rasuwagadhi road section was constructed with the financial and technical support of the Chinese government.
The road upgrading started from Ghattekhola of Gosainkunda Rural Municipality two months ago.
The Shyafrubesi to Rasuwagadhi road will have two lanes. The road section is 16-kilometer long. This was single lane gravel road. After the upgradation the road will be blacktopped with double lane.
The road will be handed to Nepal government after its completion. The road which will be constructed at the cost of Rs. 4.17 billion will be blacktopped on its 7.8 meter width and one meter at the side will be left for canal.
Chief of Galchhi-Tisuli-Syafrubesi-Rasuwagadhi Road Project Narayan Dutta Bhandari said, “In a bid to construct the road in time, we have started to remove wires and huts of the roadside.”
The one lane road was constructed six years ago with the financial support of the Chinese government.
Now with the plan to construct two lane road, locals are more than happy. With the disruption of Tatopani border by the earthquake of 2015, this road section has become main trade border connecting Rasuwagadhi.
Due to the single lane, the drivers were compelled to suffer hurdles while driving.
