Sudurpashchim State government allocates Rs 15 m to stop COVID-19 outbreak

Doti, March 24:  The Sudurpashchim State government has allocated Rs 15 million budget for the prevention of COVID-19 outbreak.    

An emergency cabinet meeting of the state government today took this decision. According to the government, the budget was allocated to adopt precautionary measures, risk minimization and set up advanced isolation wards at Seti and Mahakali hospitals.    

Similarly, the government has decided to provide Rs 500,000 to sub metropolitan city, Rs 400,000 to each municipality and Rs 300,000 to each rural municipality of the State to adopt the precautionary measures and take initiative to avert the possible outbreak of the Corona virus.

The budget will be released through the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning at the State.    

The meeting has also decided to collect the details of Nepali migrant workers from the State and who remain stranded at the Indo-Nepal border points.

The details will be sent to chief district officers and arrangement will be made to keep them in quarantine.    

The members of the State cabinet have decided to contribute their one month's salary to State Relief Fund.    

Meanwhile, daily and weekly newspapers published from the State have shut down due to human resource crunch after government announced lockdown and self-quarantine.
