Sudurpaschim State provides 16 ambulances to hospitals

Sudur Paschim State government has handed over 16 well-equipped ambulances to various health facilities on Wednesday.

The ambulances purchased from the budget of last fiscal year 2018/19 were handed over by the Ministry of Social Development of the State.

Minister for Social Development Krishna Raj Subedi handed over the ambulances to the health institutions.

The ambulances purchased at Rs. 60.25 million would be later taken to the 16 electoral constituencies of the district. The federal government has exempted 1 per cent customs in the purchase of the ambulances and after the exemption, an ambulance cost only Rs.3.9 million.

The ‘B’ category ambulances are equipped with 22 types of medicines.

The ambulances were provided to Seti State Hospital in Kailali, Mahakali Zonal Hospital in Kanchanpur, Doti District Hospital, Achham District Hospital, Kamal Bazaar Health Post, Bannigadhi Health Post and Babla Health Post, Rudreshwore Health Post, Kulau Health Post in Baitadi district, Hikila Health Post in Darchula, Khar Health Post and Jogbudha Hospital in Dadeldhura, Nabadurga Health Post and Tate Health Post in Bajura.

Likewise, Rayal Primary Health Post and Matena Health Post also received an ambulance each.

The concerned local bodies will manage drivers for the ambulances and their salaries.

Speaking at the function, Minister Subedi said that the ambulances should come into use to all parts of the region of the concerned district. He urged the local bodies to operate the ambulances in a proper way.
