By Chitra Mijar, Sindhupalchowk, Sept. 13: As many as 18 houses have been swept away at Ghumthang of Barhabise Municipality-7 in Sindhupalchwok after a massive landslide hit the area at around 2:46 am on Sunday.
Police Inspector Nabaraj Neupane of Barhabise Area Police Office said that the landslide had buried eight houses of Nag Puchhe and 10 houses of Bhimkharka.
Some 17 people have gone missing in the landslide and a female body has been recovered until now. The body is yet to be identified.
The locals and the police are conducting the search and rescue operation, informed Neupane.
Meanwhile, Agni Sapkota, speaker of the House of Representatives, is en route to Sindhupalchowk, informed Shreedhar Neupane, a journalist.
