Kathmandu, May 21: Shankharapur Municipality has managed one pass for one family to come out from their home in emergency case.
Local can get such pass from the concerned ward offices, said Subarna Shrestha, Mayor of Shankharapur Municipality.
Shrestha said that the locals could use such pass while they come out from their home for agricultural activities.
He also asked the locals to inform the ward office, municipality or police office if any person from COVID-19-infected districts entered the municipality.
In the case of the workers arriving from other districts, report of PCR test is essential to resume the work inside the municipality, he said.
“The entire house will be sealed off if any member of the family is found entertaining guests came from the virus-infected districts and all family members need to stay in 14-day quarantine. All the expenses of the quarantine need to be borne by the concerned person, and the RDT will be carried out after completing 14 days in quarantine,” Shrestha said.
In the first phase, the RDT will be conducted on the frontline health workers, people’s representatives and staff members, he added, sharing his plan to conduct RDT on one person of each house in the second phase.
The municipality has, however, decided to allow opening essential shops from 6.00am to 10.00am.
The board meeting of municipality also decided to fine the shop owners if they were found defying the instruction of the municipality.
“We will fine Rs. 1,000 if anyone violets the rule for the first time, Rs. 3,000 if the rule is defied for the second time and Rs. 5,000 for the third time,” said Heetman Tamang, spokesperson of the municipality.
Hotels, tea shops, restaurants, meat shops and alcohol shops are not allowed to open in the lockdown.
The meeting has also decided to allow the medicine shops to open 24 hours a day, he said.
Tamang urged the locals not to venture out their homes during the lockdown period.
