By Manoj Bhattarai, Okhaldhunga, Sep. 6: As many as seven people have been injured after lightning struck Betini of Okhaldhunga last night.
Bishnu Kumari Khadka, Tulasa Dhamala, and Anisha Khadka of Siddhicharan Municipality-10, Betini have been severely injured and are currently under treatment at Okhaldhunga Community Hospital in Subaru.
Damodar Dhamala, ward chair of Siddhicharan-10, said, "Tanka Kumari Dahal, Bhes Kumari Dahal, and Gunkumari Bhujel also sustained some injuries due to the lightning strike. However, their health condition is normal now."
He added that a dozen of properties were damaged in the lightning strike. "Over half a dozen cattle were killed in the lightning last night," said ward chair Dhamala.
Meanwhile, according to the Okhaldhunga District Police Office, detailed information regarding the damage caused by landslides was yet to be ascertained.
