Kathmandu, Feb 15 : Senior litterateur Tara Nath Sharma, also known as Tana Sharma, passed away due to a brain hemorrhage today. He was 87.
Born on Asar 9, 1991 BS at Barbot of Ilam, Sharma has dozens of creations on different categories—travelogue, essay, story and nobel.
He received the prestigious Madan Puraskar for his popular travelogue 'Belayat Tira Baralida' in 2026 BS and Sajha Puraskar for 'Sama Ra Samaka Kriti' in 2029 BS.
Member-Secretary of Nepal Academy, Prof Jagat Prasad Upadhyay, said that the demise of Sharma has caused an irreparable loss to the Nepali literature sector. The last rites of Sharma would be performed at Pashupati Aryaghar this afternoon.
